Mouth sores, also known as canker sores, are those small ulcers that usually appear in the mouth causing great discomfort, especially if we eat certain very salty products.
The reason for the appearance of these ulcers can be:
- Stress or nerves
- Lowered defences
- Lack of nutrients
Eating a balanced diet is one of the ways to prevent mouth ulcers. Eating foods that are high in omega 3 or Vitamin C can help prevent the onset of mouth ulcers. As well as eating foods that are not at high temperatures as these can irritate the mouth and consequently favour the appearance of canker sores.
